Equipment Needed
- Kettle or pot
- Sharp knife
- Cutting board
- Citrus juicer (optional)
- Measuring spoons
- Strainer
- Mug
Ingredients
- 2-inch piece of fresh ginger
- 1 whole lemon
- 2 tablespoons raw honey
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger. Squeeze the juice from one lemon.
- Bring water to a boil and add the sliced ginger. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, strain into your mug, add lemon juice and honey while still hot (but not boiling).
- Stir well until honey dissolves completely. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
Customization Tips
- Add a pinch of turmeric for extra immune support
- Include a cinnamon stick while simmering
- Try adding a few mint leaves for freshness
- Make it iced by cooling and serving over ice
Precaution Tips
- Don’t add honey to boiling hot tea – wait until it’s warm to preserve honey’s benefits
